Year 2008-09 had been a year of important changes as the work done by the organisation Gram Niyojan Ashram, in the fields of health, education, women empowerment, child development, Panchayat strengthen and people centred development bore good results. The organisation working according to its strategies towards people centred development had been successful in attaining participation of the people for poverty eradication.
The organisation has provided the facilities to the poor families of Aligarh, Mahamayanagar Hathras, Mathura, Etah, Pilibhit, Badaun, Bulandshahar, Bareilly, Meerut and Jhansi districts of Uttar Pradesh at village level under health, education, women empowerment, child development and Panchayat empowerment programmes for creative initiative in the direction of social change. The organisation has provided the officers at the local level, public representatives and respectable citizens, the opportunity to participate in the programme.
GNA has been running a hospital at local level to look after the reproduction and health of women and children from poor families.
The organisation has brought about positive social changes through youth welfare programmes, sewing and embroidery training programmes for women, employment orientation through making SHGs of women from poor families, women self-dependence, and literacy campaign for everyone, AIDS awareness programmes and other related issues; which shows good results in the operational area.
For the capacity building of the workers, the organisation provides training programmes and educational tour opportunities for them. This has developed in them the sincerity towards work, understanding and capacity enhancement to work with responsibility.
The organisation has got the timely support from various local social organisations, donor organisations, collaborative organisations, DRDA, DUDA, Basic Educational Officer from Aligarh, etc. for its working at the grass root levels.
Dynamics in developmental works, transparency, leadership development, community development, sustaining livelihood and enhancing entrepreneurship, health, education, and local self governance, women participation in Panchayats, child development programmes and eradication of poverty are the base for our future strategy.
We are thankful to the donor organisations and collaborators for the invaluable suggestions, inspiration and motivational support in the smooth running of the activities of our organisation.
